Michela Melone is an Italian-Brazilian choreographer, dancer and the founder and Artistic Director of Almamoto Dance Company, based in Los Angeles. Her work fuses contemporary technique with Afro-Brazilian dance, hip hop, acrobatics and breaking. She has performed for The Weeknd, JADE, Jordan x Nike, Xbox, FIFA and Hatch, and is Associate Choreographer and Rehearsal Director for Disney’s ¡Viva Navidad! with Viver Brasil.

Michela Melone is an Italian-Brazilian choreographer, dancer and the founder and Artistic Director of Almamoto Dance Company, with creative chapters in Los Angeles, Brazil and Italy. Raised between Italy and Brazil, she began performing professionally at age ten and has trained and performed across Europe, South America and the United States.

Her choreography fuses contemporary technique with the rhythmic depth of Afro-Brazilian dance, hip hop, acrobatics and breaking. She believes choreography is only the beginning: she gives dancers a framework, then asks them to fill it with themselves. Her debut production for Almamoto, EGO, was developed with casts in Aracaju, Brazil and L’Aquila, Italy, and will have its world premiere in 2027.

As a performer, Michela has appeared in music videos for The Weeknd ft. Swedish House Mafia and JADE (directed by David LaChapelle), with Jordan x Nike, in campaigns for Xbox, FIFA, Pepsi, ZTE and Hatch, and on television on Canale 5 in Italy. She has danced with Viver Brasil, Diavolo Architecture in Motion and Rejoice! Diaspora Dance Theater, and is Associate Choreographer, Rehearsal Director and Dance Captain for Disney’s ¡Viva Navidad! with Viver Brasil.

A dedicated teacher, she leads masterclasses and residencies in the United States, Brazil and Italy, in English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance with an emphasis in Choreography and Performance, earned with honors and recognition from the National Honor Society for Dance Arts.
