Michela Melone

Michela Melone is an Italian-Brazilian choreographer and movement director based in Los Angeles, and the founder and Artistic Director of Almamoto Dance Company. Raised between Italy and Brazil, she has trained, performed and taught across Europe, South America and the United States.

Her movement language fuses contemporary technique with Afro-Brazilian dance, samba, hip hop, breaking and acrobatics. She has danced in music videos for The Weeknd and JADE (directed by David LaChapelle), with Jordan x Nike, and in campaigns for Xbox, FIFA and Pepsi; as a principal dancer and soloist with Viver Brasil, with Diavolo | Architecture in Motion, and on tour with Rejoice! Diaspora Dance Theater. She is Associate Choreographer, Rehearsal Director and Dance Captain for Disney’s ¡Viva Navidad! with Viver Brasil.

A dedicated teacher, she leads masterclasses, school residencies and university workshops in English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. She holds a BA in Dance from BYU–Idaho and graduated with honors from the National Honor Society of Dance Arts.

Almamoto Dance Company

Founded by Michela in 2025, Almamoto is a dance company with creative chapters in Los Angeles, Brazil and Italy. Each work is built with local dancers in the cities where it is created, bringing contemporary dance, Afro-Brazilian tradition and street styles into the same room to make physical, emotionally charged theater.
